10/15 Message:

Dear High School Students and Families,
This is a reminder that on Monday, October 20, 2025, we will be administering the PSAT to all 10th and 11th grade students. On this day, the school will operate on a delayed opening schedule.
We will provide two separate morning bus runs for all local buses, the Mercer County bus will only operate at its regular time.
  • 10th and 11th grade students, including AM Polytech students, should report to school at their regular start time. Morning bus pick-up times/parent drop-off times for these students will remain unchanged.
  • 9th and 12th grade students will have a two-hour delayed opening and should report to their bus stops/parent drop-offs two hours later than their usual pick-up time.
  • Any 9th or 12th grade student who arrives at the regular start time will report to the auditorium until the delayed opening period concludes.
  • Please note that the Mercer County bus will operate only at its regular time. Students who ride this bus should plan to arrive at school as usual.
Thank you for your cooperation and attention to these details as we work to ensure a smooth and successful testing day for our students.

Please contact Adam Wright, Principal, with any questions.

Halloween at South

Students are permitted to wear costumes for Halloween. With that said, there are rules that must be followed:
  • no masks are permitted
  • all costumes must be school appropriate and adhere to the SHRHS dress code (no blood, inappropriate language or images, etc...)
  • no accessories are to be carried or used in connection to a costume.

If there are any questions, please contact the main office or see the attached link for the student dress code.

Be on Time

As a reminder, students are expected to arrive on time and be in their first-session classes by 7:55 a.m. Students who arrive late will be marked tardy and may be subject to the appropriate disciplinary consequences, as well as the potential loss of credit for their first-session class.

Your partnership in helping ensure that students are in school and in class on time is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your continued support.

Late Bus

As a reminder, please remember to sign up for the late bus during your lunch period. Signing up later in the day creates scheduling challenges and may result in your name not being added to the list.

Thank you

Cell Phone Protocols

Starting in the 2025–2026 school year, we ask that students place their cell phones in the designated classroom holder upon entering. Each teacher will provide you with a specific numbered spot for their class.
