Parent Resource - Managing Your Child's Technology

Posted Date: 01/28/26 (09:00 AM)

Max StosselDear SHRSD Families,

Last evening several district parents attended a Let's Talk Tech Watch Party. We started off the evening watching a video produced by Max Stossel from Social Awakenings. The video discusses the specific ways technology is designed to be addictive and distracting and highlights how social media impacts our children's brains. Below is the video for your review. As a district we have 30 days for parents to view this video before the link expires. I strongly recommend you find an hour to watch this video. Keep in mind that the video is intended for parents and not students. I am also sharing some strategies and resources from the video for parents to use managing your child's technology use.

Tools and Reminders for Students

As I am sure you are aware, Governor Murphy before leaving office passed the NJ School Cell Phone Law. The NJ Department of Education recently released Guidelines based on the law for districts to follow starting in the 2026-2027 school year. More information will be shared about next steps for our district related to this new law in the months ahead.

Sincerely,

Anthony Suozzo
Superintendent
South Hunterdon Regional School District
